ACDelco TRAINING OVERVIEW

ACDelco's approach to training combines a variety of proven training delivery methods to ensure the maximum learning benefit for the service professional. In addition to traditional instructor-led technical training courses and seminars, a wide selection of online courses are also available. Online courses offer the latest available business and technical updates right at your fingertips.

ACDelco's training approach offers online courses 24/7, which allows participants to complete the courses at their own pace and on their own schedule. In addition, they also precisely dovetail into the hands-on course offerings that are the "Gold Standard" of industry training. With the introduction of Virtual Classroom Training (VCT) courses in 2010, ACDelco offers the benefit of live instructor expertise coupled with the convenience of internet accessibility.

ACDelco COURSE DELIVERY METHODS

Tech-Assist (TAS) courses are very brief web-based technical courses which require no prerequisites. They are accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS). Each course is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $20.00.**

Self-Study Training (SST) courses are typically less than an hour of web-based technical training available 24/7. These basic-level courses are intended to help the nontechnical employee or customer understand the technical aspects of the various vehicle systems. Self-study training courses are available for no charge to anyone through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS).

Web-Based Training (WBT) courses are typically less than an hour of technical training available 24/7. They are accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS). Each web-based course is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $100.00.**

Simulation (SIM) courses are web-based interactive technical training available 24/7. They are accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS). Each interactive simulation is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $50.00.**

Virtual Classroom Training (VCT) courses are 1- to 2-hour courses presented by an ACDelco instructor. Training is presented live over the Internet utilizing animations, graphics and videos related to the content. Registration for these courses can be accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS). Each instructor-led course is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $50.00.**

Seminars (SEM) are typically presented by an ACDelco professional during the evening. Seminars usually last 3 to 4 hours and are interactive and fast paced. Registration for these seminars can be accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS) or contact your local ACDelco representative for cost and availability.

Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses are full-day courses presented by an ACDelco instructor. Training is presented utilizing vehicles and hands-on exercises. Registration for these courses can be accessed through the ACDelco Learning Management System (LMS). Each instructor-led course is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $175.00.**

Video On Demand (VOD) courses offer technicians the ability to view previously recorded content at any time. These videos are searchable, include the ability to navigate through specific topics and are now compatible with mobile phones and tablet devices. Each video-on-demand course is available for no additional charge to program participants* and is also available to non-program participants for a nominal charge of $20.**

TRAINING COURSE NUMBERING METHODOLOGY

Each ACDelco training course has a unique number. This number not only individually identifies each course for enrollment and credit tracking, but is combined with an alpha or numeric suffix to inventory all associated course materials.

HOW TO ENROLL

To enroll, simply access acdelcotraining.com and register as a new user on the Learning Management System (LMS).

You must be a registered user in order to gain access to the LMS. If you are not a current user or need help with your user ID and password, contact the Help Desk between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (EST) at 800.825.5886 and select prompt 1. You will need your organization's six-digit account number available to register as a user.

The LMS is easy to use and offers a convenient mechanism to view course schedules and either:

  • Enroll in instructor-led or virtual classroom training courses
  • Request classes at remote training sites
  • Link to web-based training courses

The LMS will also generate email notifications/reminders the week prior to training. Additionally, the LMS includes training reporting capabilities that allow tracking and monitoring of training sessions and training history.
