Technical Training CurriculumWhat will the technical training curriculum consist of? The WBT course components allow self-paced training. Instruction is delivered over the Internet and is just-in-time, specific, job-focused and practical. WBT is designed to appeal to a broad range of learning styles and is multi-sensory, meaning that it presents instruction verbally, in writing, and through graphics and animation. WBT allows technicians to review sections of the course component as many times as they need to feel confident with the content. Although a training time is indicated with each course component, technicians should learn at the pace at which they feel comfortable and best suited to their individual needs. In addition, technicians can log in and start and stop the course on any computer, at their own convenience. The hands-on, instructor-led courses will offer technicians the opportunity to participate in an instructor-facilitated, performance-based class. The tasks in each hands-on component are designed to be as close as possible to actual day-to-day situations that may be encountered in the service center environment. Technicians will work in teams to perform pre-planned tasks with assistance and guidance from the facilitator when needed. The facilitator doesn’t lecture, but instead becomes a valuable resource to the technicians. This format allows technicians time to practice and refine diagnostic and repair skills. The will be a total of 36 courses available this year:
