Are you one of those technicians who believes you can’t use one brand of replacement parts for all makes and models of vehicles? If you are, ACDelco would like to challenge you to start thinking differently. For the next 12 months, ACDelco will challenge individual technicians around the country to try select ACDelco products for non-GM vehicle related repairs. WHAT ARE THE TYPICAL CAUSES OF WIRE SET WEAR-OUT?Wires carry a lot of voltage and are typically out in the open. They get a lot of road grime and moisture on them. HOW DID YOU BEGIN TO DIAGNOSE THIS REPAIR?The customer said her car was not running well and had poor fuel economy. We asked her to bring the car to us so we could run a diagnostic check. We hooked up our engine analyzer to her vehicle – a 1998 Ford 3.8L Mustang – and found that two of the six spark plug wires were bad. 
HOW DID THE INSTALLATION GO?We were able to order ACDelco wires from our electronic catalog. We compared the Ford factory wires and ACDelco wires side by side and found they looked exactly the same. The installation was a breeze and everything went back together fine. Her car ran great when we finished, and she was very happy. WOULD YOU NOW BE MORE LIKELY TO USE ACDELCO PARTS FOR NON-GM VEHICLE RELATED REPAIRS, SUCH AS THIS?Our main goal at Hyde Auto Service is to use quality OE parts on vehicles. When I compared the new ACDelco spark plug wires to the old Ford spark plug wires, I was very impressed. We will continue to use ACDelco all makes and models parts on our customer’s cars, so that we won’t miss a beat in our continued effort to repair cars with the right parts the first time.
